Polio Echo Durable Medical Equipment Loan Program Closes

Due to the rising cost of the storage space for the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and also the declining donations of serviceable replacement equipment, the Board of Directors has decided to close the DME loan program. This will require the disposal of non-serviceable equipment and transfer the serviceable equipment to a worthy agency.

We have made arrangement with ABIL (Arizona Bridge to Independent Living) to take the remaining inventory to help start their own DME loan program. During the month of January 2009, we plan to close our storage garage and hand some of the equipment over to ABIL.

As DME Coordinator for a little more than a year I hope that I have been of some small service to many of you, either on the receiving end of the loan program or on the donating end of the loan program. Thank you for supporting Polio Echo Inc. with your membership and your donations.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the Polio survivors in the communities in the Greater Phoenix area and the State of Arizona.

Roger Buel
DME Coordinator
